Flood Hazard Ordinance
In June 2022, Middletown adopted an update to the Flood Hazard Ordinance and mapping. Middletown's Flood Hazard Ordinance 2022-3346 mandates the following:
- Details the Flood Hazard Maps applicable to Middletown
- Prescribes engineering and construction standards for applicable projects
- Lists inspection and permitting requirements and procedures

Town-wide digital FIRMS can be viewed on the FEMA Flood Map Service Center's Advance Search. Hard copies of FIRMS and maps of historical flood events can be viewed at the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library (1001 NJ-35, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702).
