Boards, Committees, & Commissions

There are nearly 2 dozen boards, commissions and committees in Middletown Township. Board members are volunteers and appointed by the Township Committee. Residents interested in volunteering their time and experience to one of these boards can submit an application online. Call 732-615-2015 for more information.

Middletown Arts Center

The Middletown Arts Center has many volunteering opportunities to choose from. Visit or give them a call for more information. Call 732-706-4100 for more information.

Middletown Emergency Management

The Middletown Office of Emergency Management coordinates response to emergencies, regularly conducts preparedness drills, assists organizations with their emergency plans and seeks to educate the public about the value of emergency preparedness.

Middletown Emergency Medical Services

The all-volunteer Emergency Medical Service Department includes 5 first aid squads that respond to thousands of emergency calls each year. Training is provided to members.

Middletown Fire Department

The all-volunteer Middletown Fire Department has been recognized as the largest all-volunteer Fire Department in the world. The Fire Department includes 11 fire companies. Training is provided at the Middletown Fire Academy.

Middletown Police Auxiliary

Our Auxiliary Officers are highly trained volunteers who serve their community in a variety of police-related tasks. During major public events, they augment our regular officers in traffic and crowd control. During times of emergencies or natural disasters, our Auxiliary Officers provide needed supplemental police service to the residents of Middletown Township. Training is provided.

Middletown Recreation

Looking for something fun to do? Do you need community service hours? If so, come help out the Middleton Recreation Department! At all our special events volunteers are needed to help run the event! Examples of duties are:

  • Event set up
  • Information booth
  • Dressing up in costume
  • Entertaining children and families
  • Registration table
  • Event clean up

Middletown Volunteer Corps

The Volunteer Corps is an advisory body. The Volunteer Corps will be available to supplement the services of emergency responders in times of need during future disasters and serve as a resource for future community-based activities and initiatives.
