Route 36 Corridor Redevelopment Project

3/16/23 Public Information Session

Route 36 Corridor Redevelopment

On March 16th, Middletown Township and T&M Associates hosted a public information session about this project.

Mayor Tony Perry opened the meeting by addressing the packed room at VFW Post 2179 in Port Monmouth. Attendees included residents, business owners, and members of the Township Committee, Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Adjustment.

Mayor Perry expressed the Township’s desire to get input from property and business owners within the redevelopment investigation study area about what they envision the Route 36 corridor to look like. Township Administrator Tony Mercantante then gave an overarching view of what this project would entail and introduced Stan Slachetka who was representing T&M Associates and is handling the redevelopment investigation study. Community members were invited to ask questions throughout the presentation, as well as view the boards of the areas along the corridor that will be part of the project. If you would like to view the boards in person, please feel free to drop by the Planning Department on the first floor (middle floor) of Town Hall at 1 Kings Highway.

There will be future Planning Board Hearings and community meetings and anyone is welcome to attend. Additional hearing and meeting dates and information will be posted on this page, so please check back for updates. We also encourage community members to follow Middletown Township on its various social media platforms for notifications (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube).
