Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge at Youth Dodgeball weekly drop-in play! Drop-in play, co-ed teams picked weekly.

Teen Volleyball
Join us for teen volleyball on Tuesday nights! Please note this is not an instructor-led class, just open play.

Poricy Park Programs
Guided Fossil Hunts
Come dig up Middletown history at the Poricy Brook Fossil Beds. Expect to find marine fossils from the Cretaceous period, 65-72 million years ago. Our guide will supply equipment for screening for fossils and help identify your treasures.

Pond Netting
Find what's at the bottom of Murray Pond! Look for frogs, turtles and snakes. Use our nets to catch tadpoles, fish, insects and other critters. Dress to get muddy!

Fossil Hunting Drop-In
Explore the fossil beds on your own time! Stop by the Poricy Park Nature Center Monday through Friday, 9 am-4 pm to rent fossil hunting equipment and a guide. Rentals are $5 per set.

School Field Trips
The Recreation Department at Poricy Park offers a range of science and colonial history programs for preschool and elementary aged students. All programs emphasize hands-on activities and "doing" the things they have learned. And, of course, substantial time outdoors where nature provides a dynamic classroom. Middletown Preschool Classes
Enrollment is now open for the 2023-24 school year! Registration is on a rolling basis based on class space. For 3 and 4 year olds. To register please call 732-615-3230. Learn more here.
Open Recreation
The Open Recreation Program is an after-school program available to all Middletown Township residents during the school year. The program provides a place for children to complete homework or play while being supervised. A monthly calendar is provided each month, including the activities for the day such as crafts, games in the gymnasium, tournaments and parties! Open Rec will reopen for the new school year September 16th.

Monday through Thursday, 3 pm-5 pm
Free for residents! Not accepting non-residents at this time.
Open Recreation Program - Teens (Grades 6-12)
Monday and Wednesday, 3 pm-5 pm
Free for residents! Not accepting non-residents at this time.
Open Recreation Rules are parallel to school rules and the Middletown BOE schedule. Children must be registered and understanding of these rules prior to participating in the program. Registration is free, please complete our registration form and bring with you on your first day! Registration Form - Mandatory for all participants
Sports Leagues
While the Recreation department may run some sports programs and special events, all Middletown sports leagues are run my non-profit organizations. Please reach out to the league contact directly for more information.
