MTPL Hosts Awesome Annual NJ Makers Day

On Saturday, March 25th, Committeewoman Kim Kratz stopped by the Middletown Township Public Library (MTPL) for its popular NJ Makers Day! NJ Makers Day is a statewide single-day event that celebrates, promotes, and introduces "Maker Culture" to all! Visitors had the chance to experience a hands-on children's museum focused on STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, art and math) and participate in a "CRAFT-A-PALOOZA" session in the Children's Room with various materials to spark their imagination. The library also offered “Maker-themed” activities for preschoolers and coding for teens. It was a fun day for the whole family!

Deadline to Register Your School-Aged Children for Free TB Skin Test (Mantoux) Appointment on Monday, 4/3 is TODAY, 3/31 at 10 PM

The Middletown Township Health Department is proud to partner with Monmouth County to offer free TB Skin Tests (Mantoux) on the first Monday of every month, beginning Monday, April 3rd. These tests are only available to school-aged children up to 18 years old. Appointments for the tests are required and will last ten minutes. The nurse will schedule a follow-up appointment with you after the exam. Test readings will be done on the first Wednesday of every month. The Middletown Township Committee Workshop Meeting will be held on Monday, April 3rd at 7:00 PM in the courtroom at Town Hall (1 Kings Highway). The meeting is open to the public. 3/27/23 Rabies Alert: Rabid Raccoon Found in Area of Millbrook Dr. and Kenwood Dr.
The Middletown Township Animal Control Division responded to a call about a sick raccoon being in the immediate vicinity of a resident's dog on Friday, March 24th in the area of Millbrook Drive and Kenwood Drive. Middletown Animal Control successfully captured the raccoon. Lab results confirmed the animal was positive for Rabies. Thankfully, the resident's dog was up to date with their Rabies vaccine and received a booster shot after the incident.

Register for MAC's School's Out Day Camp from Monday, 4/3 - Friday, 4/7
The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) will be opening its School's Out Day Camp for spring break (Monday, April 3rd to Friday, April 7th)! The MAC offers full and half-day camp programming for elementary school students when Middletown's public school district is closed. Young students are invited to fill their days off from school with crafting, doodling, and more creative activities with Miss Fish, the Doodle Dude, and friends! There are morning, afternoon, and full-day sessions. A half-day costs $38 and a full-day costs $75. Children may be dropped off at the MAC Annex, which is located at the Middletown Reformed Church (121 Kings Highway), any time after 8:30 AM and must be picked up by 3:30 PM. The school will be giving an interactive 20-minute presentation on water safety that helps children prepare for and develop confidence in situations where they will be in and around water. NJNG Offers In-Person Energy Assistance to Customers through Friday, 6/30
Last Wednesday, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) announced it will provide customers with personal support — at the company’s Asbury Park and Lakewood walk-in payment centers — to help access energy assistance grants to pay for their energy bills. On select days through June 30, 2023, representatives from local Community Action Partnership (CAP) agencies will be on hand to help customers determine eligibility for grants and other energy assistance programs and with the application process.
