Town Hall was roaring at Monday's Township Committee Meeting as Middletown celebrated Middletown High School North Ice Hockey Team for winning the state championship. This is the team's second state championship in the school's history. The coaches and players received well-deserved certificates from the Township Committee to celebrate this monumental victory. Congratulations Lions! Middletown Partners with Interfaith Neighbors to Participate in March for Meals Initiative

On Wednesday morning, Mayor Tony Perry helped Interfaith Neighbors at the Middletown Senior Center (900 Leonardville Road) pack lunches for March for Meals! Interfaith Neighbors is a nonprofit comprised of local faith communities who work together to address homelessness. March for Meals is Meals on Wheels' annual month-long campaign that raises public awareness about hunger and how it affects our senior citizens, as well as the importance of senior nutrition programs. Mayor Perry was humbled to join local volunteers to help those in need.

Earlier this week, 5th grade students from Bayview Elementary School, Fairview Elementary School, Leonardo Elementary School, and Navesink Elementary School graduated from Middletown Municipal Alliance's Project P.L.U.S. (Peer Leaders Understanding Students)! The free after school 7-week program teaches students the personal, health, and legal consequences of dangerous substances and how to become a leader in their community. A total of 73 students were in this graduating class. Congratulations to the graduates!

3/21/23 Rabies Alert: Rabid Skunk Found in Area of Riverbrook Ave., Harvey Ave., and Shelbern Dr.
The Middletown Township Animal Control Division responded to a call of an ill skunk on Saturday, March 18th in the area of Riverbrook Avenue, Harvey Avenue, and Shelbern Drive in Lincroft. Middletown Animal Control captured the animal after it was involved in an altercation with a dog. Lab results confirmed the skunk was positive for rabies.

Register for MAC's School's Out Day Camp from Monday, 4/3 - Friday, 4/7
The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) will be opening its School's Out Day Camp for spring break (Monday, April 3rd to Friday, April 7th)! The MAC offers full and half-day camp programming for elementary school students when Middletown's public school district is closed. Young students are invited to fill their days off from school with crafting, doodling, and more creative activities with Miss Fish, the Doodle Dude, and friends! There are morning, afternoon, and full-day sessions. A half-day costs $38 and a full-day costs $75. Children may be dropped off at the MAC Annex, which is located at the Middletown Reformed Church (121 Kings Highway), any time after 8:30 AM and must be picked up by 3:30 PM. NJNG Offers In-Person Energy Assistance to Customers through Friday, 6/30
On Wednesday, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) announced it will provide customers with personal support — at the company’s Asbury Park and Lakewood walk-in payment centers — to help access energy assistance grants to pay for their energy bills. On select days through June 30, 2023, representatives from local Community Action Partnership (CAP) agencies will be on hand to help customers determine eligibility for grants and other energy assistance programs and with the application process.

Get Your Tires Picked up by Monmouth County's Mosquito Madness Tire Pick-up Program until Friday, 3/31

The Monmouth County Mosquito Control Division will be picking up tires through Friday, March 31st to help prevent mosquitoes from growing in tires that hold rainwater. The division will come to your property and collect up to 10 car tires without rims. Please call 732-542-3630 and provide your name, address, number of tires, and the location of the tires on your property to arrange a pick-up. You do not need to bring the tires to the curb. The Middletown Township Health Department encourages residents to participate in this program if you have tires that are wet and ready to be discarded. If you have tires you want to keep, please either store them inside or securely cover them if they are outside.

Register Your School-Aged Children for Free TB Skin Test (Mantoux) Appointment on Monday, 4/3

The Middletown Township Health Department is proud to partner with Monmouth County to offer free TB Skin Tests (Mantoux) on the first Monday of every month, beginning Monday, April 3rd. These tests are only available to school-aged children up to 18 years old. Appointments for the tests are required and will last ten minutes. The nurse will schedule a follow-up appointment with you after the exam. Test readings will be done on the first Wednesday of every month. You can schedule an exam appointment by visiting www.middletownnj.org/tbtest.
