[ARCHIVED] Middletown Township and VNACJ Partner to Offer COVID-19 Vaccines to Seniors

Middletown Township Vaccination Registrations_FINAL

For Immediate Release – March 4, 2021

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Middletown Township and the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ) Community Health Center have partnered to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to Township residents who are 65 and older only.

The Township will begin accepting pre-registration appointments for next week on Friday, March 5th. To schedule an appointment to pre-register for the vaccine, please call the Middletown COVID-19 vaccine hotline at 732-615-3228 between the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or email covid19@middletownnj.org. Prior to an appointment to receive a vaccine, eligible residents need to pre-register in person at the East Wing of the Middletown Senior Center (900 Leonardville Road, Leonardo). Walk-in appointments will not be available. You will need to provide your name and contact information so a Township representative can confirm your pre-registration day/time. If you call after business hours, you can leave a message with your contact information and your call will be returned the next day.

Beginning Monday, March 8th, Township staff will be available from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays to assist residents with completing the registration process. Residents must bring a form of photo ID, such as a driver’s license or valid passport, and medical insurance card (if you have one) to the appointment. Once residents are registered with the Township, they will then be contacted by the VNACJ to schedule their vaccine appointment.

Vaccinations will be administered by the medical staff of the VNACJ at either the Red Bank YMCA (166 Maple Avenue) or at Bell Works (101 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel).

If seniors need transportation to the vaccine appointment, they can call the Monmouth SCAT at 732-431-6480 (press option #1) to register with them for a free ride. They will be accommodating any and all appointments once the senior is notified that they are eligible to get the vaccine.

"The Township Committee is incredibly excited to partner with the VNACJ to provide Middletown's seniors with a streamlined process to register for the COVID-19 vaccine," said Mayor Tony Perry. "Middletown will always do all we can to protect our most vulnerable population."

“We are proud to partner with Middletown and other organizations that are taking a closed pod approach to protect and vaccinate those in our community who are most at risk, such as our seniors,” said Christopher Rinn, CEO, VNACJ Community Health Center.
