Due to concerns regarding West Nile Virus, Monmouth County Mosquito Control has scheduled an adult mosquito control operation in several neighborhoods in Middletown.
On Saturday, September 12th from 4:00 to 7:00 AM, truck-mounted ultra-low volume sprayers will be dispensing Duet Dual-Action® Adulticide in the Red Hill Road area between Bamm Hollow Road and the Garden State Parkway as well the Kings Highway East area between Sleepy Hollow Road and Chapel Hill Road. They will also be treating the area between Normandy Road and East Road (South of Route 36) on Tuesday, September 15th from 5:00-7:00 AM using Zenivex.
Mosquito Control will be using the products Zenivex and Duet Dual-Action® Adulticide. The spray equipment is mounted in the bed of a pick-up truck and emits an Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) mist of pesticide. Spraying area map, details and additional information can be found at www.middletownnj.org/MosquitoControl.
While the United States Environmental Protection Agency does not require special precautions to be taken, those wishing to limit their exposure should stay indoors, bring in children’s toys and pet bowls, and turn off the intake fan in window air conditioners.
The operation is weather-dependent. Weather cancellations will be posted as soon as possible. Visit www.visitmonmouth.com/mosquito or call the County hotline at 732-578-1600 for updates.
