[ARCHIVED] Middletown to Begin Opening Tennis Courts & Fields for Recreational Use on May 1

COMMUNITY ADVISORY


The Township of Middletown will start to phase in the opening of tennis courts and fields to the public beginning Friday, May 1. They will be open for passive recreational use provided the community practices safe social distancing and adheres to the following guidelines:

  • All participants must remain 6 feet apart.
  • Groups are limited to 10 people or less.
  • No group tennis or sporting lessons are permitted.
  • The Township intends to open facilities for organized team play, practices and training to groups of 10 or less on May 15.

As a reminder, all play structures/playgrounds and basketball courts remain closed until further notice. All field permits have been cancelled and lights have been turned off. The Township will be monitoring these areas to ensure that community members are using these facilities safely or restrictions will need to be re-enforced.
