weather-alert-snow2018

Significant snow and coastal flooding is expected this afternoon. The next high tide is at 11:40 AM and tomorrow at 12:08 AM.

Residents living in flood prone areas are reminded to move vehicles to higher ground. If you are concerned about flooding, you can park at the Middletown Train Station parking lots.

The Township may close some roads due to flooding. At this time, Broadway in Port Monmouth and a section of Creek Road in Belford is closed off. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. Water may be deeper than you think. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged.

High winds may cause trees and wires to go down. For power outages call 1-888-544-4877 (1-888-LIGHTSS). We encourage you to register for Township emergency alerts at www.middletownnj.org/emergencyalerts. Updates will also be posted to www.middletownnj.org and on Town Hall's Facebook and Twitter accounts. To report a hazardous condition, call DPW at 732-615-2109. For a police, fire, or medical emergency, please call 911.

The Middletown Township Public Library is closed today. The Middletown Arts Center will be closing this afternoon. All Township meetings and programs are cancelled this evening. Township facilities include the Middletown Township Public Library, the Middletown Arts Center, the Senior Center, Poricy Park, and the Health Department.

Recycling collection is underway and is expected to be completed. As the weather event progresses, please stay tuned for updates regarding the North Zone garbage collection tomorrow and any closings/cancellations.

Stay safe!
