[ARCHIVED] Two-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Rt 35 near Kings Highway East

Middletown – The Middletown Twp. Police responded to a two vehicle crash on State Hwy 35 near the intersection of Kings Hwy East at approximately 2:18 p.m.  The crash involved two commercial vehicles, one a cement truck and the other a heavy work truck from a tree service company.  There was one minor injury reported, with no details available at this time as to the nature of that injury.

As a result of the crash, both vehicles were disabled and leaking fluids, causing the highway to be shut down.  The New Jersey Department of Transportation was notified and was requested to have the Traffic Incident Management Systems (TIMS) Unit respond to assist.

Also responding to the crash was the Middletown Twp. Fire Department Chiefs, Old Village Fire Company, Middletown Twp. Fire Police, Middletown Twp. Emergency Medical Services Inc., and Port Monmouth Volunteer First Aid Squad.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes during this time.
