Middletown residents are invited to a free hockey game on Saturday, February 4th at the Middletown Sports Complex, 214 Harmony Road. The NJ Titans will play the Aston Rebels. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a free skate after the game. Participants can bring their own skates or borrow the complex’s equipment at no cost.
This evening is presented by the Middletown Township Committee and the NJ Titans. Free tickets are limited. Tickets are available on a first-come basis at the Middletown Arts Center (36 Church Street), Town Hall (1 Kings Highway), Middletown Library (55 New Monmouth Road), Poricy Park (345 Oak Hill Road) and Ice World at the Middletown Sports Complex (214 Harmony Road). The New Jersey Titans are in their second season of play and are members of the North American Hockey League (nahl.com). The season consists of 56 games with home games played at the 1,100-seat Middletown Sports Complex in Middletown, New Jersey. The NAHL features 24-teams with franchises located across the country from Boston, New Jersey, Texas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Alaska. The league is globally recognized as one of the top junior hockey leagues and has featured alumni of Hockey Hall of Famers & Stanley Cup Champions including Pat LaFontaine, Mike Modano, Patrick Kane, Phil Kessel, and Middletown’s own James Van Riemsdyk.
The mission of the New Jersey Titans is to help develop and promote aspiring hockey players to attain their short term and long term goals both in the sport of ice hockey and in their academic pursuits. It is the focus of the program to prepare players for the realities they will face when competing at the higher levels of hockey in college or professional leagues and the education requirements and opportunities that are associated.
