Due to concerns regarding West Nile Virus, Monmouth County Mosquito Control has scheduled an adult mosquito control operation on Tuesday, July 26th, from 4:00 am to 6:00 am in the Hillside section of Middletown from Portland Avenue to Grand Avenue north of Hillside Avenue. They also be treating an area of Atlantic Highlands west of 1st Avenue to Sears Avenue and north to E. Washington Avenue.

Mosquito control will be using the product Zenivex. The spray equipment is mounted in the bed of a pick-up truck and emits an Ultra-Low volume (ULV) mist of pesticide. Spraying area map, details and additional information can be found on the county’s website at

While the USEPA does not require special precautions to be taken, those wishing to limit their exposure should stay indoors, bring in children’s toys and pet bowls, and turn off the intake fan in window air conditioners. Visit for more information.

The operation is the weather dependent. Weather cancellations will be posted as soon as possible. Visit or call the county hotline at 732-578-1600.
