The Mayor and Township Committee issued three proclamations at the June meeting to encourage support of good causes and recognize outstanding community service.

A proclamation declaring June 19-25 as Youth week in Middletown Township was issued in partnership with Middletown Elks 2179. The week is earmarked annually to honor the accomplishments of our junior citizens and recognize their importance as tomorrow’s leaders. Exalted Ruler Nick Giurieco and students Isabella Danville, David Coll, Gregory Lopez, Ashley Lopez and Britteny Lopez accepted the proclamation.

The Harbor House Ride for New Beginnings kicked off in Middletown on June 21st. The 5-day, 400-mile ride is dedicated to raising funds for this one-of-a-kind homeless shelter for kids 10-21. The Mayor and Township Committee issued a proclamation encouraging the community's support of the fundraiser and the shelter. Harbor House Director of Development Jhanna Even accepted the proclamation. Visit oceanharbor.org for more information.

The Mayor and Township Committee also recognized the 70th Anniversary of the Middletown Lions Club. The Middletown Lions Club has been an integral part of our community for seven decades. Members have generously raised millions of dollars, and unselfishly donated invaluable sweat equity to scores of projects both here and abroad. Visit mlions.org for more information.
