[ARCHIVED] Middletown Police Respond to Report of Stabbing

Middletown, NJ – On Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 4:28 PM, the Middletown Township Police Department (MTPD) responded to 16 Crystal Court for a report of a person who was stabbed. Upon the arrival of officers, they located the victim, who is not being identified at this time, bleeding from multiple stab wounds.  

According to information provided by the victim, the suspect has been identified as Matthew Royster, 27, of Middletown. Royster fled the scene prior to police arrival. During the investigation on scene, police have recovered a knife that they believed was used in the assault. Royster may be operating a Honda sedan, newer model, color silver or gray, with an unknown New Jersey temporary registration. Police have not yet apprehended him.

The victim was treated by Middletown First Aid and paramedics and transported to Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center by medivac.
