Middletown Township was recognized on Tuesday, October 29th at the EZ Ride Annual Luncheon for the $1 million awarded by the North Jersey Transit Planning Authority (NJTPA) for the 2018 NJ Safe Routes to School Grant.

The Township submitted a lengthy application for this very competitive program and is grateful for the support of the School District and River Plaza Elementary School community. The grant funds will be used to create a safer walking and biking environment for River Plaza Elementary School. Some of the improvements within the project area may include sidewalk enhancements and a new barrier fence between the sidewalk and Hubbard Avenue designed to better protect pedestrians.
