MTFD Visits Local Elementary Schools During Fire Prevention Month
Throughout the month of October, our volunteer firefighters will visit 14 elementary schools across town to teach students about the basics of fire safety. By using the Mobile Fire Safety House, the MTFD is able to simulate a smoke situation and give kids a chance to practice how to respond to a smoke alarm safely. They are also given a close-up look at a firetruck and its equipment. This is a fun way for children to get to know our volunteers while learning the importance of fire safety.
