Middletown Emergency Medical Services and Fire Department Perform "Jaws of Life" Drill

EMS/MTFD Drill
On Tuesday, April 23rd members of Middletown's Emergency Medical Services and Fire Department came together to perform a practice vehicle extrication using hydraulic tools ("jaws of life") and other hand tools at the Middletown Fire Academy. The drill was an opportunity for new members to learn some of the basics and for more experienced members to gain new techniques. Committeewoman Pat Snell attended the drill to get a better look at the training that our First Responders go through to prepare for various emergency situations.

A sincere thank you to our first responders for the time and dedication they put in to keep us safe!

Spring Clean and Go Green

Spring Clean & Go Green at the Middletown Green Team Recycling Event this Saturday, 4/27!

In the spirit of Earth Month, the Middletown Green Team will be hosting a Spring Cleaning Recycling Event at the Middletown Recycling Center (52 Kanes Lane) on Saturday, April 27th from 9:00 AM to noon to help educate residents about recycling and how to cut down on waste.

This event will provide an opportunity for residents to “spring clean” by gathering any recyclable yard items they no longer use, such as grills, plastic lawn furniture, basketball hoops or metal car parts and drop them off at the Recycling Center. Examples of other items that residents can purge and recycle include old TVs (glass cannot be shattered), computers and any aluminum cans, glass or plastics (#s 1, 2, 5).

The Township is partnering with Second Chance Toys to collect plastic playhouses, and other gently-used plastic toys, that will be given to underprivileged children. Mayor Perry and the Township Committee, along with the Middletown Green Team and Department of Public Works, will be unveiling the Township’s new plastic toy collection trailer with a ribbon cutting at 9:00 AM.
