Annual 'Mayors Cup' at Middletown Ice World

2019 Mayors Cup
Mayor Tony Perry presented the trophy to the Middletown High School North & South hockey team captains at the annual Mayor's Cup. 
Mayor Tony Perry and Committee members Kevin Settembrino and Pat Snell attended the Mayor's Cup at Ice World on Tuesday, February 5th. Congratulations to both Middletown North and South hockey teams on their hard-fought game that ended in a tie. The Township Committee and all of Middletown is proud to be represented in this year's playoffs by such tremendous athletes!

VFW Post 2179 Hosts Complimentary Dinner for Local
U.S. Coast Guard Families Impacted
by Government Shutdown

VFW Coast Guard Dinner
On Friday, February 1st VFW Post 2179 and Middletown's Office of Emergency Management partnered to host a dinner for members of the U.S. Coast Guard and their families who have been impacted by the governmental shutdown. Mayor Tony Perry along with Committee members Rick Hibell and Pat Snell joined all of their supporters at the VFW to thank these men and women for their exemplary service during this difficult time. Our community appreciates their selflessness and dedication.

Community Outreach Session about 

Energy-Saving Initiatives

On Wednesday, February 6th the Middletown Green Team and Township officials held an outreach event for residents to learn about rebates and incentives available through New Jersey Natural Gas’ (NJNG) The SAVEGREEN Project® and New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program™ (NJCEP) to help make energy-efficiency improvements more affordable. Mayor Tony Perry spoke about some of the Township’s energy-saving initiatives and touted his recent energy audit experience through SAVEGREEN. Representatives from NJNG and NJCEP made informative presentations to the attendees, providing details on rebates and incentives available to residential and commercial customers. In fact, customers can take advantage of rebates and incentives, including NJNG’s 0% APR On-Bill Repayment Program of up to $15,000 for whole-house energy audits and equipment upgrades. Plus, there are enhanced incentives available for income-eligible households. Residents can also access rebates for ENERGY STAR-qualified appliance purchases and recycling. Middletown Lions Club Hosts Annual Super Bowl Breakfast Benefiting No Limits Cafe

Mayor Tony Perry attended the Middletown Lions Club Annual Superbowl Breakfast on Sunday, February 3rd at Applebees Restaurant in Middletown. The Middletown Lions Club sponsors many wonderful programs in Monmouth County. This year, the proceeds from the Super Bowl Breakfast benefited No Limits Cafe, a charitable organization that trains and employs adults with Intellectual Disabilities in the food service industry. Thank you to the Lions Club for hosting this event and helping so many of our charitable organizations in Middletown. 

Members of the Middletown Township Committee attended a Monmouth Ocean Foundation for Children (MOFFC) event to support the Shore Center for Students with Autism at the Friendly Sons of Shillelagh in Belmar on Thursday, February 8th. This program provides educational opportunities for autistic children in Middletown and all of Monmouth County. The Township Committee is proud to support this organization and others that promote autism awareness for those in need of assistance.

MTPD Seeks DVRT Volunteers

Volunteers Needed for Middletown Township Police Department Domestic Violence Response Team

The Middletown Township Police Department (MTPD) is currently recruiting volunteers to serve on the Middletown Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT). In affiliation with 180 Turning Lives Around (180), and with the assistance of the response team volunteers, the MTPD continues to make this service available to victims of domestic violence during the initial stages of a highly emotional and traumatic experience. 180 will be conducting an intensive 40-hour mandatory training course for Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) volunteers April 29th – May 23rd on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00-9:30 PM in the courtroom at Hazlet Police Headquarters, 255 Middle Road in Hazlet. New Jersey Turnpike Authority Begins GSP Interchange 109 Construction Project

On November 1, 2018, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) began a construction project to make improvements to Garden State Parkway Interchange 109 at Newman Springs Road (C.R. 520) in the Lincroft section of Middletown. Motorists are advised to expect delays and plan alternate routes if possible.
