Middletown Crossing Guards Attend Annual Training

Middletown Crossing Guards
By law, all Middletown crossing guards have to attend a State-mandated refresher training course every August before returning to their posts. This training consists of a video that demonstrates the proper procedures and techniques they should be utilizing when crossing both students and pedestrians who come within their guarded areas. Crossing Guard Supervisor Dominick Donatelli also demonstrated these techniques in person. Retired Detective Peter White of the Middletown Board of Education's Security Department also gave a lecture about "School Safety & Awareness". At the end of the training, Crossing Guard Cheryl Wilson received her 30 Year service pin and Crossing Guard Betty Juan received her 25 Year service pin. We wish all of our crossing guards a safe school year ahead!
