Deputy Mayor Kevin Settembrino and Committeemen Tony Perry and Rick Hibell attended the Middletown Township Fire Department's Large Diameter Hose (LDH) drill at the Belford Ferry Terminal on Sunday, April 22nd. MTFD Chief Ryan Clarke and over 60 local volunteer firefighters from the Middletown Township Fire Department ran this large-scale training exercise to simulate a situation where firefighters would need to create a pipeline from a local water source to stop a fire. Fire Chief Ryan Clarke oversaw the drill, which is typically done twice per year, and gave members of the Township Committee a tour that showed the kind of work, dedication, and equipment it takes to perform this drill.
