Picture of Mayor Tony Perry and USS NEW JERSEY Commissioning Committee President Peter Engelman with painting

At the Township Committee Regular Meeting on Monday, September 23rd, USS NEW JERSEY Commissioning Committee President Peter Engelman surprised the Township Committee with a painting to thank them for the Township's assistance and support. The painting depicts the USS NEW JERSEY (SSN 796) driving into Sandy Hook with the two previous USS NEW JERSEY boats (the BB-16 from World I and the BB-62 from World War II) in the back.

Hosting the USS NEW JERSEY (SSN 796) Commissioning Ceremony in Middletown was a true honor, and we wish the crew "fair winds and following seas" and thank them for their service.
