On Friday August 11th, Mayor Tony Perry and Township Committeeman Ryan Clarke attended Navesink Hook and Ladder Fire Company #1’s annual Fireman's Fair. The fair had an amazing turnout and fun was had by community members of all ages.

This year, there was also a special award presentation. Along with the Middletown Township Fire Department (MTFD) chiefs, Mayor Perry and Committeeman Clarke honored local community member Molly Frank, a young medical assistant, who helped save a man's life after he suffered serious injuries in a car accident on Navesink River Road last month.

Molly spotted the accident on her way home from work and immediately pulled over to help a man who was bleeding heavily. Molly sprang into action by putting on the medical gloves from her first aid kit and began applying pressure to the man's wounds. When Navesink firefighters arrived on the scene they recognized the seriousness of the injury and told Molly to keep pressure on his leg.

The firefighters were impressed by how calm Molly was and how she had the situation under control. Thanks to Molly and the MTFD’s first aid efforts, the gentleman survived the life-threatening incident and is stable. Molly recently applied to the nursing program at Brookdale Community College and her goal is to become a labor and delivery nurse. We wish her the best of luck!
