Middletown Recreation Receives Prestigious Awards from New Jersey Recreation and Park Association

Middletown Recreation was recently presented with two awards at the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association (NJRPA) Annual Awards Ceremony: the Agency Showcase Award for the Middletown Recreation Weekly Calendar Social Media Campaign and the Daniel M. MTPD Supports 21st Annual Blue Mass

On Thursday, Middletown Township Police Department (MTPD) Chief Craig Weber, Deputy Chief John Kaiser, and MTPD's newly formed Honor/Color Guard were honored to attend the Blue Mass held at St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral. The Blue Mass is an annual event that honors and remembers fallen members of the law enforcement community.

Last Thursday, Lincroft Fire Company (LFC) and Mayor Tony Perry recognized the Fallacaro family for their fundraising efforts to support our local community and all-volunteer fire department. Lincroft residents and elementary school students JoJo, Carina, and Nico Fallacaro started a lemonade stand last summer as part of a school project about ways to contribute to your community. Their baby brother Rocco also helped in charming friends and neighbors into donating generously, and their parents Sandy and Richie matched their fundraising efforts.

Township Committee to Host Meeting on Monday, 4/17 at 7 PM


The Middletown Township Committee Regular Meeting will be held on Monday, April 17th at 7:00 PM in the courtroom at Town Hall (1 Kings Highway). The meeting is open to the public. 

The meeting will also be made available to watch or listen to by visiting www.middletownnj.org/tcmeeting. If prompted, please enter your name and email address to join. To call in to the meeting, dial 1-408-418-9388. The event access code is 2338 467 4625 followed by #. Enter 2023 if a passcode is required. 

Prior to the Township Committee Meeting, the event link will be published on the Township’s Facebook page. The recording of the meeting will be aired on the Township’s TV channel (Verizon FiOS Channel 26/Comcast Cable Channel 20) and YouTube channel.

Recognize Earth Day with Middletown Recreation's and Middletown Green Team's Earth Day Celebration

Celebrate Earth Day in the parks! Join Middletown Recreation and the Middletown Green Team on Saturday, April 22nd from 9-11 AM to beautify Camp Hope in Lincroft Acres (Orchard Hill Drive). Volunteers will line and maintain its trails. 

This great community service project is free for all residents. Scout groups interested in participating should email recreation@middletownnj.org for additional service hour opportunities leading up to the event.

Get Ready for Earth Day with the MTPL's Nature on the Go Program on Wednesday, 4/19 at 4 PM

MTPL Nature on the Go! Forests with Monmouth County Park System

Just in time for Earth Day, you're invited to come and meet the talented naturalists at this outdoor interpretive program. The Monmouth County Park System's eye-catching nature van will arrive at the Middletown Township Public Library (MTPL) filled with interactive, hands-on tabletop activities and displays that will educate and engage you. Registration is NOT required.

This program will take place on the MTPL's lawn outside the front doors. In the event of inclement weather, the program will take place in the library's Community Room (55 New Monmouth Road).

Staples Announces Free Tech Take Back Program

Staples Free Tech Take Back

The Middletown Green Team encourages residents to participate in Staples' Free Tech Take Back, a program that allows customers to bring certain items to Staples stores for recycling. This program will be available from Sunday, April 16th to Saturday, June 3rd.

Register for Free Children's Immunization Appointment on Thursday, 4/20

Middletown Health Department and Monmouth County are offering free children's immunizations on the third Thursday of each month.

The Middletown Township Health Department and Monmouth County are offering free children’s immunizations on the third Thursday of each month from 10 AM - 1 PM at the Middletown Township Health Department. Participants must meet the following requirements to make an appointment: 

  • Patients must be between the ages of birth to 18 years old.
  • Patients need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Patients should either have no health insurance or only be on the NJ Family Care Plan A.
  • Patients are required to bring their immunization records.

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 732-431-7456.

NJAW Conducting Annual Hydrant Flushing: Discolored Water is Harmless and Normal


New Jersey American Water (NJAW) is flushing the pipes in its water distribution system from approximately March 6th to May 12th in Middletown. During this time, you may notice a drop in water pressure or discolored water. This is normal. If this happens, it is not harmful. Simply let your water run until it is clear.

Middletown Recreation MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run

Middletown Recreation is teaming up with the Middletown Youth Athletic Association for the MLB Pitch, Hit & Run competition this Sunday from 12-2 PM at Bodman Park (50 Market Street)! This fun event is free for residents between the ages of 7-14 to try. Winners in each age range can compete for the chance to move on to competitions in real MLB stadiums! Walk-in registration is available.

Submission deadline for MAC One-Acts is Friday, 4/21

The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) is excited to open its call for submissions to The MAC ONE-ACTS, a play-reading festival featuring original one-act works by New Jersey playwrights. Entries from New Jersey residents ages 13 and older will be accepted and must be original unpublished scripts adhering to standard professional play format with run-times of no longer than 30 minutes. Submission deadline is Friday, April 21st at 11:59 PM.

MTPL Artist Cafe: Spotlight on Writing and Poetry

Join the MTPL on Saturday, April 22nd for a panel discussion with local writers and poets from 2-4 PM at its Community Room. For the first hour, you will hear about how they got their start and continue to hone their craft. The second hour will be for all writers to ask questions and collaborate. Artists will also have the opportunity to show off their talents open mic style! The panel features Tobias Carroll, Christine Clemetson, Flora Higgins, Ryan Roberts, and Yao Tsao.

Join the MAC on Sunday, April 23rd from 4-6 PM for its monthly music cafe, featuring local talents and top-notch singer-songwriters Andy Judkis, Neil Kessler, Paul During, and Daniel Ravaglia. The concert will take place inside the MAC's theater (36 Church Street). The event is free with a suggested donation of $5.

New Jersey Natural Gas Logo

NJNG Offers In-Person Energy Assistance to Customers through Friday, 6/30


Last month, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) announced it will provide customers with personal support — at the company’s Asbury Park and Lakewood walk-in payment centers — to help access energy assistance grants to pay for their energy bills. On select days through June 30, 2023, representatives from local Community Action Partnership (CAP) agencies will be on hand to help customers determine eligibility for grants and other energy assistance programs and with the application process.
