The event was held in honor of the four chaplains who selflessly sacrificed their lives to save the troops aboard the U.S.A.T. Dorchester, which was struck by a torpedo during World War II. The Chapel of Four Chaplains presented Charlie with "The Legion of Honor Humanitarian Award" in recognition of his dedication to helping people.

Charlie is a lifetime member of the Middletown Township Fire Department, having served as Fire Chief in 1992 as well as a number of ranks in the Port Monmouth Fire Company, including Captain, President, and Trustee. Please join us in congratulating Charlie and thanking him for his service!
