Middletown Prepares for Snowstorm: Updates and Safety Tips

A blizzard warning is in effect for Monmouth County from 7:00 PM Friday through 7:00 PM Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Middletown Township began preparing for the snowstorm yesterday by treating main roads with brine, fueling snow plows, and working with the State to monitor tides and adjust our floodgates to prevent flooding. Models are currently predicting an accumulation of 6-12 inches in our area. We will continue to post updates on our website and social media channels.

Middletown Township Moves Forward with Safe Route to River Plaza Elementary School ProjectYesterday, Middletown Township announced that the preliminary engineering phase for the Safe Route to School project to create a safer walking environment for River Plaza Elementary School students has begun.
"The Township and School District applied for this grant together, and it's rewarding to see this important project getting off the ground," said Mayor Tony Perry. "These much-needed improvements will help keep our walkers and bikers safe which is a huge priority.”

Mayor Tony Perry Appointed to Sustainable Jersey Board of TrusteesMiddletown Township today announced that Mayor Tony Perry has been appointed to the Sustainable Jersey Board of Trustees. During his tenure as mayor, he has spearheaded several green initiatives such as prioritizing recycling education, preserving open space, and utilizing renewable energies.
Middletown Township achieved Sustainable Jersey Silver Level status in 2019, earning a substantial number of points through the Port Monmouth Flood Control Project, the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, and the Recycling Education Campaign. MTPD Announces Police Youth Week 2022 Dates:Registration Opens Monday, 2/21 at 10 AM

The Middletown Township Police Department (MTPD) will be hosting its annual Police Youth Week program this summer from June 27th to July 1st for children between the ages of 8 and 11, July 18th to July 22nd for children between the ages of 8 and 11, and August 15th to August 19th for children between the ages of 12 and 13. Each program begins on a Monday and ends on a Friday.
Registration will begin on Monday, February 21st at 10 AM. Registration will only take place through Middletown Recreation's CommunityPass.

The author will be remote, but patrons have the option of participating from the library's community room. Registration is required.
Noted author and Navy Seal veteran Mike Ritland will lead a discussion centered on his book, "Navy Seal Dogs: My Tale of Training Canines for Combat." He will share the true story of how he discovered his passion and grew up to become the trainer of the nation's most elite military working dogs.

COVID-19 Testing at Middletown Train Station on Monday and Thursday from 3 to 7 PM
|
|
|
|
|
Immediate Care will be offering COVID-19 PCR testing at the Middletown Train Station's main parking lot this week on Monday and Thursday from 3:00 - 7:00 PM, or until the site reaches full capacity. It has come to our attention that some community members have mistakenly gone to the Middletown Arts Center for testing. The testing site, which is off Middletown-Lincroft Road, is marked by orange traffic cones.
Tests will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Results will be emailed within 48-72 hours. If you have not received an email within 72 hours, you can contact the Immediate Care Call Center at 888-355-0635 to get your results.
Depending on the weather, the testing site may be closed on Monday. Visit www.middletownnj.org/covid19screening for updates.

COVID-19 Vaccine and Booster Shot Clinic at MTPL Now Open on Mondays and Wednesdays: Pre-Register Now!

The vaccine clinic at the Middletown Township Public Library (55 New Monmouth Road) will now also be administering COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots, by appointment only, for people ages 5+ on Mondays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in addition to its regular hours on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Walk-ins can receive their vaccines and booster shots on Wednesdays between the hours of 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. You do not need to be a Middletown resident to register. Those seeking vaccines should bring their ID and insurance card if they have one. Those seeking boosters should also bring their vaccine card.

Monmouth County partners with Vault Health and Brookdale Community College to provide State-funded COVID-19 testing site
The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners and Vault Health have partnered to provide a COVID-19 testing site at Brookdale Community College’s Robert J. Collins Arena, which is being funded by the New Jersey Department of Health.
The testing site will be open at least three days per week through February with saliva PCR tests and rapid antigen tests available. Results will be provided for PCR tests in 24 to 48 hours.
