Middletown Expects to Re-Open Playing Fields and Facilities for Organized Team Practices with Safety Guidelines in Place on May 15 Middletown Township today announced that it intends to re-open playing fields and facilities for team practices on Friday, May 15, provided it is deemed safe.
"We’re taking a practical and safe approach with each decision we make," said Mayor Tony Perry. "I, along with my colleagues, have faith that our community will continue to maintain social distancing in parks and fields, so that we can move forward together in reopening our town.”
If the Township re-opens for organized team play practices on May 15, there will be guidelines & restrictions in effect until Sunday, June 14. Fields for organized team practices will be available on a first-come permitted basis and will be available to Middletown Township resident teams/leagues/organizations only. The current Township Field/Facility Request procedures will be followed requiring a new detailed, completed request form and a current & ACTIVE certificate of liability insurance naming the Township of Middletown as additional insured. No room or gym rentals will be available/permitted.

On Monday, May 4th, the Middletown Township Committee held a virtual Workshop Meeting that enabled residents to participate remotely. This meeting included a resolution extending the grace period for second quarter property tax collection from May 11, 2020 to June 1,2020.

Advisory: Second Quarter Property Tax Payment Grace Period Extended to June 1
|
|
|
|
|
The Middletown Township Committee passed a resolution to extend the grace period for 2nd quarter tax collection from May 11 to June 1 at the May 4, 2020 Workshop Meeting to help alleviate some of the financial hardships incurred by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please ensure that property tax payments are received by the Tax Collection Office, located at Croydon Hall (900 Leonardville Road, Leonardo), no later than 4:00 PM on Monday, June 1, 2020 to avoid interest charges. Please do not post-date your payment. There are no refunds for payments already made.
As a reminder, the Tax Collection Office is currently closed to the public so tax payments cannot be made in person. Homeowners can pay property taxes to the Township in any of the following ways:
MAIL: You can mail your payment to the Township of Middletown, 1 Kings Highway, Middletown, NJ 07748. Please do not mail payments to Croydon Hall.
DROP BOX AT CROYDON HALL: For your convenience, tax payments can be placed in the drop box at Croydon Hall. This box is located by the door that faces the playground and is checked daily.
ONLINE: You can pay your taxes online through the Township website by visiting www.middletownnj.org/taxcollection or click HERE to access the Township’s payment portal. Please note there is a 3rd party fee if paying by credit card but there is no charge if paying by check.

Middletown Township Police Department & 180 Turning Lives Around are Recruiting Volunteers to Support Sexual Violence Victims

Please consider volunteering for 180's new Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates that respond for the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). There is a mandatory 40-hour training course from June 2-25, Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays, 6:00-9:30 PM. Deadline to apply is Tuesday, May 26.

As the Middletown Recycling Center (52 Kanes Lane) has resumed normal operating hours (Thursday-Monday from 8:30am-4:30pm), the temporary recycling dropoff at Bayshore Middle School is now closed.
The Middletown Train Station Recycling Drop Off Center, located in the main parking lot of the train station off Middletown-Lincroft Road, is open 24/7. The Township is currently seeking a permanent recycling location on the north side of town. Updates will be posted on www.middletownnj.org/recycling and on Recycle Coach, a free customized mobile and web application that contains garbage, bulk and recycling information. Residents can download the free app from iTunes or GooglePlay or visit www.middletownnj.org/recyclecoach.

The state’s behavioral health information and referral service offers assistance to people dealing with anxiety and stress related to the COVID-19 outbreak.
