Middletown Health Department Reports Total of 18 COVID-19 Cases


Restricted Access to Municipal Facilities Extended Through April 5th



The Middletown Township Department of Health and Social Services today reported a total of 18 COVID-19 cases, including a resident of Luftman Towers, an apartment building for seniors in Lincroft. Direct contact persons, organizations and workplaces will be notified by health officials as they receive information from the patients. To date, the Health Department has received 53 negative cases from laboratory reports. 

To continue to maintain a safe environment for our community, all public access restrictions to Municipal buildings and programs will be extended through Sunday, April 5th. This includes the Middletown Township Public Library, the Middletown Arts Center and Middletown Recreation facilities. All play structures/playgrounds are closed, fields and courts are closed to any organized or unorganized team play, practices or training, and all permits have been canceled and the lights have been turned off. Per the Governor’s Executive Order, all golf courses are closed, however parks remain open.


As more information becomes available, it will be shared with the public and the media. News updates and information regarding Township events and programs affected by COVID-19 are posted at www.middletownnj.org/coronavirus.

Middletown EMS Prepared to Serve Community During COVID-19 Crisis


The Middletown Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department today announced that they are prepared to safely respond to COVID-19-related emergencies within our community in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and medical direction recommendations.

“EMS Chiefs James Kelly, Floyd Goldstein and Frank Brancati have been in constant contact with our Health Department, Office of Emergency Management, Police and Fire Departments,” said Mayor Tony Perry. “We are so appreciative of these men and women who volunteer to put their lives on the line when responding to these calls.”

Township first responders have been receiving continual updates from the CDC, our State and Local Health Departments and Offices of Emergency Management. The EMS Department has been modifying the treatment and transport plans to better protect the doctors, nurses and techs who work in the hospitals in our area as well as the citizens of Middletown.

If you are calling 911 for any police, fire or medical emergency and have a fever, cough, or any flu-like symptoms, PLEASE let the dispatcher know. 
 
If you are quarantined (mandatory or self-imposed) in your home or business due to possible or confirmed COVID-19 exposure, PLEASE notify 911 when you call and advise the dispatcher. 
 
We also ask that you place a sign/note on your front door to alert our firefighters, EMTs, and law enforcement officers to take infection-prevention precautions before prior to entering your home or business. It is imperative that we protect our crews so that they will be able to continue to meet the emergency needs of the community.
