Restricted Access to Municipal Facilities Extended Through April 5th

March 23, 2020


MIDDLETOWN, NJ – The Middletown Township Department of Health and Social Services today reported a total of 18 COVID-19 cases, including a resident of Luftman Towers, an apartment building for seniors in Lincroft. Direct contact persons, organizations and workplaces will be notified by health officials as they receive information from the patients. To date, the Health Department has received 53 negative cases from laboratory reports. 


To continue to maintain a safe environment for our community, all public access restrictions to Municipal buildings and programs will be extended through Sunday, April 5th. This includes the Middletown Township Public Library, the Middletown Arts Center and Middletown Recreation facilities. All play structures/playgrounds are closed, fields and courts are closed to any organized or unorganized team play, practices or training, and all permits have been canceled and the lights have been turned off. Per the Governor’s Executive Order, all golf courses are closed, however parks remain open.


As more information becomes available, it will be shared with the public and the media. News updates and information regarding Township events and programs affected by COVID-19 are posted at www.middletownnj.org/coronavirus.
