[ARCHIVED] Bamm Hollow Road Bridge Improvements Start Oct. 5

Starting October 5th, the portion of Bamm Hollow Road over Poricy between Middletown Lincroft Road and Blue Jay Court, will close to traffic at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6 and remain closed for approximately two weeks. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by Oct. 21.

“Due to the significant deterioration of the culvert, reconstruction of the south headwall is necessary,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering. “The goal is to improve the overall safety of the traveling public in the area.”

Bamm Hollow Road will be open to local traffic only up to the point of the closure. All other motorists should follow the posted detours. All traffic should expect travel delays throughout the entire project.

“Motorists should expect travel delays in the area throughout the culvert reconstruction project,” said Arnone.

The works is being performed by Lucas Construction Group. The estimated cost of construction is $127,000.

In total, the County maintains of approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons. Follow posted detours. Seek alternate routes. Call Middletown Police Traffic Safety at 732-615-2045 for more information.
