[ARCHIVED] Westminster Presbyterian Church Is Accepting Donations for Hurricane Harvey Victims Now Through 9/11

Westminster Presbyterian Church Harvey Donation Drive

Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC), located at 94 Tindall Road in Middletown, has set up a trailer donation drive on its Great Lawn to help Hurricane Harvey victims. Church member, Jim Davis, who owns Whirl Construction, was the driving force behind the project when he offered to put his company’s largest equipment trailer on the WPC Great Lawn with a large sign asking the community to provide specific relief supplies (see Donation Drive List below).

Donations will be accepted from Thursday, September 7th until Monday, September 11th. There will be a designated parking area near the trailer for drop off. WPC requests that you leave donations under the two tents near the trailer. After hours donations may be dropped under the sheltered roof area near the sanctuary.

If the trailer is not filled to capacity by September 11th it will remain on-site to accept donations through Thursday, September 14th and will depart for Texas on Friday, September 15th. Westminster’s Reverend Joseph Hein has been coordinating relief efforts with Reverend John Roberts of Grace Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi. Members of his congregation will receive and distribute the relief supplies.

When the first trailer was set up on the Great Lawn late in the afternoon on September 5th, it was already 25 percent filled by the time it was locked up for the evening. A back-up trailer rig has been donated by Speed Global Services Trucking to store the anticipated high volume of donated goods.

For additional information and regular updates about the WPC Help4Houston Project visit the church’s web site or Facebook page.
