[ARCHIVED] MTPD Equipped with Body Cameras

BWC MVR_news

Body-worn cameras play a vital role for law enforcement officers and the community that they serve. The cameras are a significant deterrent to unlawful and inappropriate behavior by all those who are present when police interact with the public. The Middletown Township Police Department (MTPD) recognizes the wide range of benefits of this program including improved availability of evidence supporting arrests, greater transparency and accountability to the public we serve, promotion of professionalism, increased opportunities for departmental training, and decreased complaints against officers.

Middletown Township Police Officers are equipped with Motorola Watch Guard V300 cameras, as seen below, in accordance with Departmental Policy and the New Jersey Attorney General Directive.
